Lefkada
You will fall in love with Lefkada at first sight. It is linked to the mainland by a 70 meter floating bridge. Lefkada, the white island by its name because of its rocks, is in fact very green. From its coasts to the summits of its mountains, it is covered in rich flora, odorous pine and cypress trees, olive groves, rosemary and thyme and sea lilies. In spring a plethora of flowers, daisies, chamomile and asfakia to name but a few, offer inebriating smells.
It is the third biggest island of the Ionian Sea and from it you can easily access smaller islands such as, Meganisi, Kalamos and Kastos, with daily cruises or your own boat.
It boasts the best beaches in the Mediterranean with turquoise colored waters that will leave you speechless. The most famous being Porto Katsiki, Egremni, Mylos, Aghiofili, Kathisma and Pefkoulia, which won Greek and international awards.
You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to activities. There is an extensive network of paths, revealing the unknown. flora canyons, streams and spectacular abandoned monasteries. Mountain bikes, horse riding, parasailing, windsurfing and kite surfing are alternatives.
